Every year, businesses and consumers in EU Member States discard 10 million tonnes of furniture, with most of it ending up in landfills. This waste not only squanders valuable resources but also releases toxic chemicals that pollute our soil, air, and water. Both as consumers and designers, we hold a responsibility toward our Earth and future generations with every object we make or purchase.
At Bemorie, we’re committed to being part of the solution rather than contributing to the problem. Our Second Life initiative is our way of redesigning the traditional, linear ‘take, make, dispose’ model into a sustainable, circular system. By selling samples and guaranteeing buy-back options for pieces no longer in use (in exchange for store credit), we ensure that our designs continue to serve a purpose and avoid ending up as waste.
