Life Like Lego

There’s something magical about the simplicity of basic geometric shapes—rectangles, circles, triangles. They remind me of my childhood, a time when my imagination transformed these shapes into castles, houses, and entire worlds. Whether it was drawing with untrained hands or building with Lego blocks, these fundamental forms were the building blocks of creativity.

As I grew older, I realized that the objects we surround ourselves with—no matter how complex or ornate—are still rooted in these same basic shapes. They’ve just been hidden under layers of intricacy and detail. In my furniture design, I strip back this complexity to celebrate the beauty of those foundational forms. Working with simple geometry feels like reconnecting with that childlike joy, a reminder of hours spent building, imagining, and creating. Life, like Lego, is all about piecing together the basics into something meaningful.
